Spetses Island
The 2024 summer school will be held on the beautiful island of Spetses in Greece.
Sitting in the heart of the Saronic Gulf and belonging to the Saronic island group, Spetses Greece stands out for its architecture and elegance.

It is a picturesque island with very little motorised transport, so you can wander undisturbed and explore the beautiful alleys at your own pace. Around Dapia, the island's port, there are a selection of cafes and bars, ideal for a leisurely coffee or a sunset drink .
Meeting Venue & Acommodation
Spetses Hotel
The 4-star Spetses Hotel is in a unique seafront location which is a 10 minute walk from the main port, the “Dapia”. With its comfortable rooms, lounge, restaurants and terraces overlooking the emerald sea on a private beach, the Spetses Hotel provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Meeting room
The hotel's meeting room is airconditioned and has comfortable chairs each with its own fold down desk. The room is equipped with all modern conference requirements.
Student accommodation
All students are allocated a twin room at the Spetses Hotel. When students are offered a place on the course they are asked who they would like to share with. If no preference is stated then shared rooms are allocated on a same-gender basis.

All rooms are airconditioned and include facilities like wifi, beach towels, hairdryers and a mini fridge which can store small amounts of food/drink.
Hotel facilities
The opening and closing dinners are held at the Spetses Hotel Maris Restaurant.
Refreshment breaks are held on the terrace to give everyone fresh air and sunshine between sessions.
The hotel has beautiful views of the sea and a lovely terrace by the beach where the poster sessions are held.

Sun loungers by the sea are available for those quiet moments between sessions.
Getting your luggage to/from the hotel and the port
The hotel sends a vehicle to the port to collect your luggage when you arrive and transport it to the hotel. Attendees have a pleasant 15 minute walk from the port to the hotel.

When you depart, the hotel transports your luggage to the port while you walk from the hotel back to the port.
